Why haven't I heard about your welders?

This is the most frequent of our frequently asked questions.

The simple answer has four parts:

• First, we simply haven't been around as long as the "major" welding equipment manufacturers -- and, our equipment is much less visible than conventional welding equipment. In fact, you have probably seen trucks which have our welders installed -- but you would have no way of knowing that the vehicle had a welder installed.
• Second, when we chose to avoid venture capital financing and public stock offerings to raise large sums of money for marketing, we did so to maintain total control over our company and our products -- but, we gave up access to a multi-million dollar advertising program that can take a new product from obscurity to national prominence overnight. However, even without an unlimited advertising budget, word of mouth is fueling extraordinary sales growth.
• Third, for much the same reason that we did not go public, we have chosen not to sell our technology to any of the big, well known welding equipment conglomerates. Big companies often acquire new technology that would dramatically reduce product prices so that they can hide it in a back room rather than offer it to their customers. We want our technology to be available to people all over the world -- including the 3rd world -- where, in our opinion, the existence of low cost high quality welding equipment can make a really significant difference.
• Third, and possibly most significant reason of all, retailers and national distributors worry about profits and profit margins (select this hyper link here for more on this) -- NOT always about what might be best for their customers.

In the welding field, before the introduction of the ZENA's light weight modular power generators, and our unique electronic controls, engine driven welder technology had remained constant for over 70 years. During this same period retail prices (and retail profit margins) always went up -- consistently year after year.

Our modular welders are a leap forward in engine driven welder technology. They are not simply the result of tiny, evolutionary improvements to existing products, or technologies.   This means that even though a distributor makes the same profit percentage on the sale, only 1/5th as many dollars go into their pocket when they sell a ZENA unit instead of a conventional welder!
  
  Since most distributors see the existence of such a product as a direct attack on their livelihood, it's rather easy to see why ZENA welders are not currently seen in every welding distributor's showroom!

• If this isn't bad enough for retailers and distributors of conventional welding equipment, the fact that ZENA welding systems can be used to inexpensively repair previously "un-repariable" engine driven welders with damaged generating systems (causing the distributor to potentially "loose" a new welder sale here and there) adds insult to injury!
